Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented, high-volume Accounts Payable Accountant to join a well-respected organization in Marin County. In this role, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the full AP cycle, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and supporting cross-functional collaboration. Responsibilities:
+ Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process, including vendor onboarding, invoice review, coding, and data entry.
+ Reconcile corporate credit card transactions, resolving disputes and investigating potential fraud.
+ Process employee reimbursements and manage credit card deactivations in a timely manner.
+ Allocate invoices and credit card charges across multiple subsidiaries accurately.
+ Execute intercompany expense allocations to ensure proper financial reporting.
+ Maintain strong vendor relationships and resolve payment discrepancies promptly and thoroughly.
+ Lead month-end and year-end AP close activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and journal entries.
+ Ensure compliance with tax regulations, internal controls, and vendor agreements; manage 1099 filings.
+ Support external audits by providing documentation and responding to auditor requests.
+ Assist with ad hoc accounting tasks and special projects to support financial operations.
Requirements
Qualifications:
+ Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience with a strong emphasis on accounts payable
+ Solid understanding of sales tax, journal entries, and general ledger accounting
+ Hands-on experience with month-end close, including accruals and financial reporting
+ Proficient in credit card reconciliations and expense report processing
+ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including use of formulas and data analysis tools
+ Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities to ensure accuracy and efficiency
+ Strong interpersonal skills to support cross-department collaboration and vendor relationship management
+ Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and thrive in a team-oriented environment
