The Role at a glance:
Our centralized Houston, TX based Accounting Organization is looking for a self-driven and solutions-oriented Corporate Accounting Manager to join a fast-paced and maturing team as they create efficiencies within their processes and procedures. The Accounting Manger will be responsible for creating and maintaining accurate and compliant financial documents. Duties include entering financial data and transactions into the ledger, reviewing, and reconciling accounts, support of the Internal and External Audit process and assisting with various other accounting, reporting and administrative tasks as needed.

What you'll be doing:
+ Develop and maintain accounting policies, ensuring they are aligned with relevant accounting standards and internal controls.
+ Collect, analyze, and consolidate financial information from various subsidiaries or business units. This includes preparing and reviewing consolidating journal entries, ensuring proper intercompany eliminations, and maintaining accurate balance sheet and income statement data.
+ Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring they are accurate, complete, and comply with relevant regulations.
+ Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems, ensuring they can capture and report financial transactions accurately.
+ Overseeing the month-end and year-end closing processes.
+ Coordinating and supporting internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
+ Provide training and guidance to other accounting staff on new accounting standards and policies
+ Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial reporting Standards (IFRS) to ensure accurate and complete recording of financial transactions
+ Reconcile general ledger accounts on a regular basis, investigating and resolving any discrepancies
+ Analyze and interpret financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential issues
+ Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions
+ Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the general ledger accounting function
+ Provide support for ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting requests
+ Create and document detailed business requirements, perform analysis, outlining problems, opportunities and solutions for the stakeholders.
+ Author and update internal and external documentation and formally initiate and deliver requirements and documentation.
+ Improve systems by studying and documenting current state and business rules.
+ Construct workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specification
+ Translate stakeholder requests into formal requirements.
+ Deliver high-quality business requirement documentation for business manuals, new development, training manuals, user guide, and system guide.
+ Prepare weekly/monthly reconciliations for Fixed Assets related accounts for multiple companies.
+ Assist with special projects as requested by management.
What we're looking for:
_Must-haves:_
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business-related field or equivalent experience
+ Five or more years of accounting experience
+ Experience dealing with multiple work sites / remote groups
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
+ ERP system experience (such as GP or SAP), in a high volume, dynamic environment
+ Comprehensive knowledge and experience with revenue recognition concepts and practical application, month end close procedures, controls, internal reporting & analytics, and working with external auditors
+ Knowledge of accounting: conceptual and practical experience in researching, understanding, and communicating technical accounting issues
+ Is comfortable and has the capability to navigate uncertain or unclear situations, make informed decisions, and adapting to changing circumstances
+ Designated in office work hours with ability to travel as needed up to 10%
+ Ability to be recognized as a subject matter expert and valued partner with the business.
+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Demonstrate the ability to deliver results while working in a fast-paced, change-driven environment with the ability to meet deadlines.
