The Job:
We are seeking a highly motivated, organized, and detail-oriented individual to join our Legal Team as a Supervising Claims Coordinator. In this position, you will provide administrative support to Product Liability Counsel, Litigation Managers and Safety Assurance Managers. This is a hybrid role based in Middle River, MD. You’ll get to:
+ Receiving, logging and disseminating Service of Process for North America.
+ Maintaining files for Assistant General Counsel -- Litigation and department. Preparing confidential documents, correspondence, spreadsheets and reporting memoranda as requested. Preparing monthly Concur expense reports. Arranging travel and calendaring for department head.
+ Processing settlement checks, including obtaining vendor numbers and creating formal check requests.
+ Entering payment data in various database reporting systems (Legal Tracker, Riskonnect, etc.), and liaising with Risk Department and Corporate Accounting department re: same.
+ Preparing reports as needed via Riskonnect for internal tracking/reporting, M&A activity and discovery purposes.
+ Reviewing settlements for Medicare reporting, including quarterly reporting to Medicare’s claim system -- CMS.
+ Preparing quarterly Mass Tort audit and summary for EII Board Meetings. Receiving M&S Mass Tort insurance checks for deposit. Entering mass tort insurance recoveries in Riskonnect.
+ Running expense, open file and file closure reports as requested for Ernst & Young.
+ Assisting with file closure, storage and destruction of product liability/general liability/auto liability files
+ Assisting Safety Assurance Managers with logging files for litigation or other legal hold.
+ Preparing quarterly audit of Litigation Managers’ and Safety Assurance Managers’ workload and reserve balances.
+ Disseminating mail and assist with opening new claims/suits, pull files, photocopying, maintaining log of PTO and sick time for P/L department, order supplies and new equipment as needed/requested.

+ Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to interact on sensitive legal matters with all levels of company personnel.
+ Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
+ Personal computer skills and knowledge of office software applications (Word, PowerPoint, Adobe, Concur, Outlook, ShipExec etc.), and willingness to learn Blueprint, ExamWorks, IServe-ExamWorks, Exterro, Riskonnect, Metastorm.
+ Position requires 2-3 days a week at Middle River office, and occasional after-hours email monitoring.

The base pay range for this position in Maryland is $70,300-$126,500. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on payment may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
