    Job Title: CAD ProgrammerJob Description

     

    We are seeking a skilled CAD Programmer to join our dynamic team. This role involves spending 20-30% of your time in the CAD/programming space, while the remainder will focus on machine setup and hands-on work. You will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs using CAD/CAM software, and transforming client graphic files into engraving programs.

    Responsibilities

    + Develop, optimize, and maintain CNC programs (G-code) for 3-axis CNC milling machines using CAD/CAM software.

    + Create and modify 2D and 3D models of parts and assemblies using CAD software.

    + Create engraving programs for the CNC Department using CAD/CAM software.

    + Transform incoming client graphic files into engraving programs, adhering to production guidelines.

    + Collaborate closely with Engineering, Operations, and Quality Control to ensure design accuracy and manufacturability.

    + Continuously seek opportunities to improve programming efficiency and design engraving processes.

    + Create client proof artwork.

    + Interface between Customer Service and Production.

    + Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards.

    + Perform additional tasks as required.

    Essential Skills

    + 5-10 years of experience in CAD packages, CNC programming (G-code and M-code), machine setup, and tooling design.

    + Blueprint to coding experience.

    + Proficiency in 2D-3D modeling of parts using CAD software.

    + Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming.

    + Proficiency in at least one major CAD software package (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, Creo, Fusion 360).

    + Proficiency in at least one major CAM software package (e.g., Mastercam, GibbsCAM, SolidCAM, HSMWorks).

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Associate or bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

    + US citizenship is required.

    + Machinist experience and CNC Operator experience are a plus.

    Work Environment

    Our work environment is that of a small, close-knit company consisting of 8-10 people, emphasizing cross-functional collaboration. We work primarily with military contracts but also expand into life sciences and other industries. The role operates on a 1st shift schedule from 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. We value flexibility, leadership, and adaptability in our team members.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
