Job Title: Medical AssistantJob Description

As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the office. This role involves supporting multiple physicians and their patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care, management, organization, and communication.

Responsibilities

+ Greet and check in patients.

+ Answer telephone calls.

+ Schedule appointments.

+ Prepare charts.

+ Take vital signs and room patients.

+ Enter data in electronic medical record system.

+ Order imaging studies.

+ Obtain prior authorizations.

+ Schedule outside referrals.

+ Call in prescriptions.

Essential Skills

+ Minimum of six months experience as a medical assistant.

+ Knowledge of Classification Procedural Terminology (CPT) or ICD-10 coding.

+ Experience with electronic medical records.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ 1-3 years of experience as a medical assistant or medical secretary.

+ Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures.

+ Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

+ Ideally, 1-2 years of experience within a medical office, preferably within the Orthopedic setting.

+ MA Certification is a plus.

+ Strong organizational skills and keen attention to details.

+ Appointment scheduling and medical terminology knowledge.

+ Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or National Health Career Association (NHA) preferred.

+ Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card preferred.

+ Degree in Medical Assisting or alike preferred.

The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, offering opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
