Quality Inspector – Industrial Machine Shop Parts (Levels 1 & 2)
**Location:** Portsmouth, VA
**Industry:** Precision Manufacturing | U.S. DoD Access Required
Do you have a strong eye for detail and a passion for making sure things are done right the first time? We’re hiring experienced **Quality Inspectors** to join a high-precision industrial machine shop in Portsmouth, VA. This team supports complex, critical parts—so the right person will be skilled in inspection, serious about accuracy, and confident using precision measuring tools.
IMPORTANT: PLEASE DO NOT APPLY UNLESS YOU MEET ALL OF THE FOLLOWING MUST-HAVES:
+ **U.S. Citizenship (required for DoD facility access)**
+ **Strong communication skills and a solid work ethic**
+ **Proven experience in machining and quality inspection (5+ years preferred)**
+ **Strong ability to read blueprints and perform tests and inspections using calibrated tools**
+ **Clean background and driving record**
What You’ll Do:
+ Inspect parts (visual and dimensional) during and after machining
+ Use precision tools to ensure all specs meet customer requirements
+ Create inspection reports and track nonconforming parts
+ Work closely with machinists to catch and solve problems early
+ Support root cause analysis and maintain a clean work environment
You’ll Succeed Here If You:
+ Are detail-oriented, organized, and thrive in a fast-paced setting
+ Have excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
+ Know your way around Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams)
+ Can work independently and take initiative
Compensation & Benefits:
+ **$25–$32/hour + plenty of overtime available**

**Physical Requirements:** Physical Requirements: Ability to move or transfer products with an overhead crane, Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs., as well as stand, walk, reach overhead with hands and arms, when required. May have prolonged periods sitting at a desk working on a computer.
