    Job Title: CAD ProgrammerJob Description

     

    We are seeking a talented CAD Programmer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will develop, optimize, and maintain CNC programs for 3-axis milling machines, create and modify 2D and 3D models, and collaborate with various departments to ensure design accuracy and manufacturability. This role requires a proactive approach to improving programming efficiency and the engraving process.

    Responsibilities

    + Develop, optimize, and maintain CNC programs (G-code) for 3-axis CNC milling machines using CAD/CAM software.

    + Create and modify 2D and 3D models of parts and assemblies using CAD software.

    + Generate engraving programs for the CNC department utilizing CAD/CAM software.

    + Transform incoming client graphic files into engraving programs, adhering to production guidelines.

    + Collaborate closely with Engineering, Operations, and Quality Control teams to ensure design accuracy and manufacturability.

    + Seek opportunities to improve programming efficiency and design engraving processes.

    + Create client proof artwork.

    + Interface between Customer Service and Production.

    + Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards.

    + Perform additional tasks as required.

    Essential Skills

    + 5-10 years of experience in CAD packages, CNC programming (G-code and M-code), machine setup, and tooling.

    + Blueprint to coding experience.

    + 2D and 3D modeling using CAD software.

    + Proficiency in Mastercam and SolidWorks.

    + Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Associate or bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

    + Exposure to programming milling tools in CAD/CAM.

    + Proficiency in major CAD software packages such as AutoCAD, Inventor, Creo, Fusion 360.

    + Proficiency in major CAM software packages such as GibbsCAM, SolidCAM, HSMWorks.

    + Machinist and CNC Operator experience is a plus.

    Work Environment

    Work in a small, close-knit company consisting of 8-10 members with a cross-functional approach. The role primarily involves working with military contracts but also extends to life sciences and other industries. The position is for the first shift, Monday through Friday, from 9 to 5. Flexibility, leadership, and adaptability to different circumstances are crucial.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
