Job Title: QC Inspector
Job Description
As a QC Inspector, you will perform dimensional, visual, and functional inspections of parts, components, assemblies, and raw materials. You will be responsible for documenting and communicating inspection results, as well as preparing First Part & In Process Inspection reports using precision handheld measurement equipment, CMM, and gauges. Your role will include reviewing acceptance criteria defined by customer documents to ensure appropriate inspection methods and identifying any drawing or specification errors. You will also define and deliver responses to customer requests related to product quality, execute internal audits to ensure compliance with procedures, and cooperate with manufacturing to prevent non-conforming products.
Responsibilities
+ Perform dimensional, visual, and functional inspection of parts, components, assemblies, and raw materials.
+ Document and communicate inspection results.
+ Prepare First Part & In Process Inspection reports using precision handheld measurement equipment, CMM, and gauges.
+ Review acceptance criteria defined by customer documents.
+ Identify and document any drawing or specification errors.
+ Define and deliver responses to customer requests related to product quality.
+ Execute internal audits to ensure compliance with procedures and work instructions.
+ Cooperate with manufacturing to prevent non-conforming products and improve processes.
+ Create nonconformance reports and corrective actions.
+ Ensure accountability for ISO 9001-2015 quality system and standards.
+ Train new employees on ISO 9001-2015.
+ Set up and monitor Key Performance Indicators and develop plans for continual improvements.
+ Operate CMM / Faro Laser tracker.
Essential Skills
+ Knowledge of inspection and measurement techniques and equipment.
+ Understanding of ASTM Y 14.5 dimensioning and tolerancing standard.
+ Knowledge of machining and machining processes.
+ Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T.
+ Analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Organizational skills and attention to detail.
+ Verbal and written communication skills.
+ Basic programming experience with CMM.
+ Good judgment and decision-making skills.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
+ Ability to learn and use company ERP systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems preferred.
+ Ability to scale up and down ladders for large part inspection.
+ Capability of lifting up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment
You will be working in a small machine shop with two nearby locations. Our environment includes both small and large parts made from various materials based on the job. While field machining is rare, one shop has been established since the 1980s, and the other is brand new. The position operates on a day shift from 7 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Clackamas, Oregon.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
