Job Description
This position is with the Iowa Department of Corrections – Third District. The Community Corrections Program Coordinator is responsible for providing clients with evidence-based programming/interventions for the Department. The Third District encompasses 16 counties in northwest Iowa.
The Community Corrections Program Coordinator will encompass a diverse range of tasks. These tasks include:
+ Research of evidence-based programming and implementation of new programming, tracks data on our internal interventions
+ Liaison between the community intervention providers and the District
+ Arranges for and coordinates client referrals to appropriate provider agencies
+ Collaborates with leadership to improve client outcomes and ensure a continuum of services between the District and outside agencies
+ Updates District’s community resource guide as needed
+ Provide client services in a group or instructional setting, to include ACT-Anger, ACT-V, and client incentive groups, as well as the documentation of progress for each attendee
+ Will represent the District as a re-entry coordinator to assist in difficult transition placements for clients released from prison, to include prison reach-in visits, Re-entry Task Force committee meetings
+ Editor of the District newsletter, which highlights CCP and Change Champions information, as well as departmental updates
+ Provides access to and monitors the Department’s care closet, re-entry bus passes, and other incentive items for clients
+ Serves as a trainer/coach for staff for programming (ACT-Anger, ACT-V, etc.), completing Iowa Tools on internal facilitators and providing coaching to newly trained facilitators
+ Organizes New Employee Orientation bi-yearly
Working some nights may be required to facilitate classes or attend community/outreach events.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:
+ Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in any field, and experience equal to two years of full-time work in a human services or criminal justice field.
+ A total of six years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number one), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in any field equals one year of full-time experience.
+ Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes 18 months of fulltime work as a Probation/Parole Officer II or 30 months as a Community Corrections Program Manager in a district or a similar position in another jurisdiction or agency.
