Job Description:
The assistant theatre coach will work with the drama teacher to prepare theatre students for competitions and travel with competition teams to support the teams at competition. The assistant theatre coach will also assist with casting, directing and producing theatre productions and showcases throughout the year.
Duties include:
+ Assist with casting, coaching and directing the Shakespeare Competition team and travel to completion with the team to Cedar City (three-day trip) along with the drama teacher.
+ Assist with casting, directing and producing the Evening of Shakespeare showcase.
+ Assist with casting and producing the Evening of Broadway showcase.
+ Assist with casting, directing, and producing the fall musical (rehearsals held after school).
+ Assist with casting, directing, and producing the spring school play (rehearsals held after school).
+ Assist with casting, directing, coaching, and producing the region competition team (one-act and individual events) and the state competition team. Accompany the team to region and state competitions along with the drama teacher.
+ Assist with producing the region competition showcase.
+ Assist with coaching, directing, and producing the Student-Directed Evening of One-Acts and end of the year class showcases.
Preferred Skills:
Applicant must have previous theatre experience. Prior experience directing, theatre coaching, or participating in theatre competitions a plus. Applicant must be available to work with students and drama teacher during afternoon drama classes, after school, evening performances, and on weekends as scheduled by the drama teacher.
