Job Location: Hershey, PA NOTE: Our ideal candidate will be located within a drivable distance to Hershey. The Director, Salty Strategy leads strategic thinking, direction setting, and complex problem solving to enable Hershey’s Salty snacks strategic long term growth agenda as well as business model innovation in pursuit of this agenda. Reporting to the President of Salty, he/she will oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously and will need to operate at both a detailed, analytical level as well as a broad, strategic, general manager level. This role will also provide strategic direction and problem solving for our emerging growth area and identifying opportunities for both organic and inorganic growth. This role is a key advisor to the President of Salty, providing consultative guidance, analytics, and thought partnership to further the Salty snacks business unit strategic targets. * Core Responsibilities / Outcomes Expected* * _ Strategic Planning/Emerging Growth Strategy:_ Assist in the development and execution of strategic plans to drive growth and profitability in the salty snacks category, developing the 3-year Salty Division Strategic plan and the 3-year Strategic plan and direction for the emerging growth areas (including, but not limited to, eCommerce and emerging brands) of the business annually * _ M&A_: Setting M&A strategy and evaluating new M&A and business development opportunities in partnership with the M&A team. * _ Executive Communication_: Developing executive-level presentations for the President Salty Snacks and CEO (EC updates, Board presentations, external engagements, etc.) * _ Executive Support_: Provide high-level support to senior leadership, including preparing reports, presentations, and strategic recommendations * _ Strategic Projects_: Serve as the Project Lead for all strategic initiatives, including detailing the problem, organizing a cross-functional team, and proposing and managing a timely analysis with predetermined milestones. * _ Strategic Leadership_: Guide the Salty Snacks vision and leadership by recommending future strategies and plans to senior management and communicating the direction for the business to the managers that report directly and indirectly to them. * _ Performance Monitoring_: Track and analyze key performance metrics to inform strategic decisions and identify areas for improvement. * _ Market Analysis_: Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive threats. * _ Stakeholder Engagement_: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support strategic initiatives. * _ Strategic Partnerships_: Develop, implement, and lead a partnership strategy to increase the reach and impact of our ongoing efforts to achieve vision of being an Innovative Snacking Powerhouse. * Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities* * _ Strategic Thinking:_ Ability to develop and implement effective business strategies. * _ Leadership_: Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire cross-functional teams. * _ Analytical Skills_: Proficiency in data analysis, market research, and performance metrics. * Education & Experience:* * _ Experience_: Minimum of 8-10 years in a strategic or leadership role within the CPG industry or top tier consulting firm, with a focus on salty snacks or similar categories. * _ Education_: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred. * #LI-SW1* The Hershey Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
