    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Personnel in this job title may be covered by NERC CIP cyber security standards. If the position is covered, prior to being hired, promoted, or transferred into the position, the candidate must successfully pass a Personnel Risk Assessment, which includes identity verification and a criminal background check. Prior to being granted unescorted access to cyber secure areas, the candidate must attend cyber security training. Annual cyber security training is also required.

     

    Admin I

    SUMMARY:

    Under direct supervision, provides assistance to management and administers special projects.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Conducts reviews of current operations, systems or programs for efficiency and effectiveness

     

    Recommends changes and improvements where appropriate

     

    Serves as the functional unit or managerial unit Budget Coordinator

     

    Assists management with monitoring budget variance reports and budget changes for compliance with company policy and department budget guidelines

     

    Acts as a liaison between the manager or executive and his or her direct reports

     

    Develops project plans and coordinates or directs special projects for management

    COMPETENCIES:

    Knowledge of project management principles, practices and techniques

     

    Knowledge of budgeting systems and budget variance reporting

     

    Excellent organization and planning skills

     

    Ability to pay attention to detail

    QUALIFICATIONS

    MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

    High school diploma or GED with at least five years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline.

    COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

    Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos

     

    Ability to write correspondence

     

    Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization

    COMPUTER SKILLS:

    Working knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software

    ANALYSIS AND PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITY:

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand and walk up to 1/3 of the time and regularly required to sit up to 2/3 of the time and talk and listen for long periods of time. Manual dexterity and the ability to reach is required to perform computer applications and good vision is required to perform all aspects of the job. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

     

    May require some travel.

    Extensive knowledge of budgeting systems and budget variance reporting

    Ability to pay attention to detail

    QUALIFICATIONS

    MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
