    We are hiring a UA Collector for our growing team! The UA Collector will primarily be responsible for:

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Maintains supplies and equipment needed

    • Maintains client confidentiality during collection

    • Maintains proper chain of custody during collection

    • Utilizes standard precautions while collecting

    • Observes client during the entire collection process

    • Communicates with director of any missed collections

    • Maintains spreadsheet to ensure client compliance

    • Re-orders testing supplies as needed via the lab order form on the boat

    • Communicates with the medical operations manager for training needs

    • Ensures that every client is compliant with medical necessity testing requirements

    • The collector is responsible for preventing the clients or anyone else from gaining unauthorized

     

    access to the collection materials/supplies and ensuring this is followed at all times. The

    collector must also ensure that the patient does not have access to items that could be used to

    adulterate or dilute the specimen (e.g., soap, disinfectants, cleaning agents, water)

     

    • The Collector will be responsible for ensuring the collection site is kept clean at all times, and

    a clean surface is available for the collector to use as a work area for completing required

     

    paperwork.

     

    • Collector will be responsible for reviewing and following all procedures to prevent the client or

     

    anyone else from gaining unauthorized access to the collection materials/supplies. The

    collector must also ensure that the patient does not have access to items that could be used to

    adulterate or dilute the specimen (e.g., soap, disinfectants, cleaning agents, water); as well as

     

    procedures to ensure that all authorized persons are under the supervision of a collector or

     

    appropriate site personnel at all times when permitted into the site.

     

    • The collector will be responsible for explaining the basic collection procedures to the client.

    • Participate in staff and state regulatory training as required

    • Adhere to program policies and procedures while maintaining a professional code of ethics

    • Maintain a valid driver’s license

    Key Experience and Education Needed:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent

    • 1 year of experience in substance use treatment preferred

    • 1 year of lab or medical experience preferred

    Other Qualifications to be Considered:

    • Knowledge of basic infection prevention strategies and precautions.

    • Knowledge of the physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual impact of alcohol and other

     

    substances on the individual and family.

     

    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

    • Attention to detail and organization is a must.

    • Ability to prioritize work- and work-related responsibilities.

    • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.

    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle crisis situations in a calm and supportive manner.

    • Ability to exhibit professional and courteous behavior, consistent with the ARC mission

    statement, when interacting with persons of varying backgrounds and education levels to create

    a safe and therapeutic relationship with clients served

    • Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time

    • Ability to read detailed health records

    • Ability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs.

    • Ability to operate computer and other equipment in the office

    • Must have sufficient mobility to move around the office and the community
