    Description

    The Analytical Solutions Division (ASD) (https://www.ara.com/huntsville-alabama/) of Applied Research Associates (ARA), Inc ( www.ara.com ) has an exciting opportunity for a full-time **Drafter** working in our Madison, AL facility. The Drafter will provide innovative computer-aided design and drawings based on engineering sketches and proposal specifications. This will include design, development, evaluation, and modification of systems and system-oriented products. This position will require a detail-oriented individual to digitize, edit, and revise engineering drawings of components, parts, circuits, structures and/or assemblies. Under general supervision, will collaborate with the drafting and engineering team to understand and interpret their design concepts, sketches, and technical specifications.

    Drafter Must Haves:

    + High School diploma (or equivalent) **plus** advanced training **and** 2+ years of relevant experience

    + Possess a strong working knowledge of Solidworks and features in Solidworks drawings environment

    + Experience in producing a drawing package which includes knowledge of drafting techniques, workflow processes, required drawing contents, and dimensioning and tolerancing

    + Strong attention to detail and precision in translating designs into accurate technical specifications

    + Capable of performing basic to intermediate drafting techniques with intermediate knowledge of practical fabrication techniques

    + Ability to gather, maintain, format, compile, and manipulate technical data, such as BOMs, product/material data sheets and engineering design changes

    + Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with the engineering, design, and production teams

    + Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

    + Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges

    + A passion for staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies

    + Self-motivated with the ability to work proactively and achieve results without close supervision

    + Innovative and creative thinker, results oriented problem-solver, with a ‘can do’ attitude

    + Be physically capable of wearing all required personal protective equipment to include, but not limited to safety glasses, respirator, safety shoes, hearing protection and hand protection as required

    + Ability to sit &/or stand for long periods of time, stand, sit, stoop, bend, crouch, crawl, climb, hold and move items with hand, multilimbed coordination, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, push and pull and lifting 50lbs independently, and over 50lbs with assistance

    + **Ability to obtain and maintain a minimum of a SECRET clearance from the US Department of Defense**

    + **Be a U.S. Citizen**

    This will** **“WOW”** **us if you have the following:

    + Active / current SECRET Clearance from the US Department of Defense

    + Familiarity with ASME Y14 standards

    + Working knowledge of Solidworks Surfacing
