We at Fairview Health Services are looking for a casual cardiology technician to join our team at our** **University of Minnesota Medical Center (East Bank)** **!

The Cardiology Technician is responsible for providing diagnostic testing inpatients and outpatients. This includes 12-Lead ECGs, Holter, Event and BP monitor application. The Cardiology Technician will perform various duties assigned by the supervisor including, but not limited to, retrieval of supplies for/from different units, and retrieval/restocking of linen.

Schedule:** **This position will be working 0.03 FTE, 8 hour long on evening shifts with an every oth** **er weekend rotation** **Fri, Sat, Sun evening 2:30pm-11pm.

As a Cardiology Technician, you will be responsible for:

+ Performing ECG’s, and application of stress and Holter, Event, and BP monitor.

+ Preparing patients for examinations and explaining procedures to patients.

+ Performing all file maintenance activities related to the tests including filing, copying, faxing, and file pulling.

+ Maintaining all testing equipment.

+ Troubleshooting of equipment issues and conducting preventative maintenance checks.

+ Initiating service calls on equipment not working.

+ In the absence of stress testing and supervise application, the Cardiology Technician will perform various duties assigned by the nursing supervisor (ANS).

+ Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications

+ High School Diploma or G.E.D.

+ 1 year of EKG or patient care experience

+ Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Preferred

+ Vocational/Technical Training or Associate Degree

+ Completion of accredited cardiac technician program or equivalent clinical experience

+ 2-4 years of EKG or patient care experience
