    Fairview is hiring** **a Patient Care Supervisor** **on the Float Pool** **at** **the St. John’s Hospital** **located** **in** **Maplewood** **, MN.

    The Float Pool team will take full care assignments and float to a variety of units including Cardiac Telemetry, Med/Surg, Orthopedics, Oncology, and more! This unique department is a specialty group that supports patient care throughout the hospital.     **Schedule:** This position will be working **0.6** **FTE** (48 **hours** every two weeks). The shift length will be 8 **hours** with flexbile scheduling, mostly evening hours with some days shift hours.

    About Our** **Float Pool** **Department at** **St. John’s Hospital:

     

    + Our team is prepared to work in a variety of clinical environments, where every day is different and exciting!

    + You will primarily be floating into our Cardiac Tele unit, where you will provide care to a variety of cardiac patients, including those recovering from cardiac procedures such as post open-heart transplant, coronary bypass surgeries, stent placements and more!

    + You will also float to General Med/Surg, Orthopedics, and Oncology.

    + Orientation is based in the Medical Surgical units. You will float to each unit with a preceptor and your over-all orientation time, as well as your unit-specific orientation time, will be determined by your level of experience.

    + There is an option to train to specialty areas such as ER, ICU, and MCC after 6 months.

    + This position would include a variety of duties including tele monitoring, IV therapies, care for postoperative/medical surgical patients, accessing port-a-caths, PICCs, and feeding tubes.

    + There is opportunity to obtain various certifications including Med/Surg, Ortho, and Chemo.

    Job Expectations:

    + Manages day-to-day operations of assigned area(s) to ensure support of the mission, vision, values and goals of the organization.

    + Plans, manages, coordinates and evaluates patient care activities including staffing, resource management, quality and safety, regulatory compliance, and financial management.

    + Manages equipment inventory and supply management within operational budget.

    + Accountable for capacity management to promote patient flow.

    + Develops, implements, monitors and evaluates the quality improvement initiatives.

    In addition, the PCS:

    + Is responsible for human resources management to achieve quality service and positive employee relations.

    + Ensures compliance with organizational policies and procedures.

    + Advocates for patient, family and staff needs.

    + Drives improvement activities that promote patient centered care and positive customer experience.

    + In partnership the Nursing Practice and Education team assure that evidence based/best practice clinical care is being delivered.

    + Ensures staff compliance in areas of job requirements, education and clinical competency.

    + Works with Nurse Director to establish goals and objectives.

    + Promotes a culture of high employee engagement, professional development, nursing education and research.

    + Partners with interprofessional team members across the continuum of care to achieve organizational outcomes.

    Qualifications:

    Required

    + Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. If Master’s degree is in nursing or healthcare, Bachelor’s degree in other area of study will be accepted.

    + Three years nursing experience, at least one of which in a formal or informal (charge, lead, preceptor) leadership role. Knowledge of patient population served in area of responsibility.

    + Licensed Registered Nurse. Ability to obtain Minnesota nursing license at time of hire.

    + BLS certification

    Preferred

    + Master’s degree in nursing, health care administration, business administration or related field.

    + ANCC or AONL Certification
