Job Overview
The Provider Leadership Coach is responsible for coaching providers in leadership roles or those transitioning into leadership, helping them strengthen their strategic thinking, communication, team building, emotional intelligence, resiliency, and career development skills. The Coach works with individual providers or in groups to improve performance and prevent burnout, often drawing on their medical backgrounds to understand the specific challenges physicians face. As a trusted advisor and coach, this role will partner with the CMO, service line executives, and other key physician leaders to elevate leadership performance, enhance team effectiveness, and align clinical strategy with organizational goals.
Responsibilities
+ Coach physicians to build core leadership competencies (e.g., emotional intelligence, communication, influence, decision-making).
+ Support transitions from clinical roles to formal/informal leadership roles.
+ Assist in developing personal leadership goals and strategic career development plans.
+ Help physician leaders reflect on performance, set improvement goals, and stay accountable.
+ Address challenges in leading teams, managing conflict, or navigating organizational change.
+ Use tools like 360-degree feedback, self-assessments, or personality profiles (e.g., MBTI, DISC, EQ-i).
+ Prepare physician leaders to lead through complexity, uncertainty, and change.
+ Support adaptive leadership practices in high-stakes environments (e.g., patient safety initiatives, operational changes).
+ Coach around communication effectiveness in meetings, one-on-ones, and public forums.
+ Strengthen physicians’ abilities to foster engagement, psychological safety, and trust within teams.
+ Help physician leaders align their teams with organizational goals and priorities.
+ Support the translation of system strategy into team-level action.
Required Qualifications
+ Doctor of Medicine MD/DO/DNP/PA/CRNA or equivalent advanced degree to be a practicing provider.
+ 5 years Experience in formal or informal coaching of healthcare professionals or clinical leaders.
+ 5 years Advanced leadership experience in a healthcare setting executing on strategic goals.
+ 5 years Prior clinical experience as a practicing provider
Preferred Qualifications
+ ICF certification, Hudson Institute, or equivalent
+ Experience with development of coaching programs.

Compensation Disclaimer
The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills,knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, our organization values pay equity and considers the internal equity of our team when making any offer. Positions withthe same min/max are flat rate jobs based on 40 hours/week. Compensation plans based on production can allow for higher pay than the range posted.
