    GENERAL SUMMARY

    Position is responsible for complying with estimating procedures when developing project estimates. The individual will develop estimate plan and coordinate estimate development with the project team. The Estimator will prepare complex estimates (i.e., proposal, fair cost, conceptual, definitive design, study, take-off, etc.) to include coordinating with Project Managers, Subcontract Administrators, Project Controls and SMEs to understand the scope of work/project execution plan and develop resource requirements.

    PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

    Estimate scoping and development is the primary function of this position and includes being a member of the project team and attending team meetings, reviewing plant and design drawings and PDC packages, performing plant walk downs with project managers, system engineers, etc. to scope plant design changes, estimating man hours for craft and professional services to support projects, identifying Internal Labor / External Labor / Non-Labor of labor, estimating material and equipment costs, determining tax liability for projects where applicable, etc.

     

    + Develop estimate plans and basis of estimate documents;

    + Review and determine if estimate input (scope, schedule, WBS, assumptions, exclusions, other coding) are adequate;

    + Determine estimating methods to be used;

    + Analyze the reasonableness of estimates by comparing estimates, or portions of estimates, to historical information (benchmarks, standard ratios, etc.); document the analysis; revise estimates as needed based on the analysis;

    + Review specifications and drawings/sketches for the preparation of the cost estimates; oversee or perform detailed quantity takeoff of drawings or sketches; and

    + Review estimates prepared by others outside of the Estimating Department.

     

    Attends management and project level meetings to represent and defend the basis for the estimates, estimate level of accuracy, and provide general support to project managers.

     

    Maintains the estimating data base and historical estimating records as required; Prepare and/or review estimating procedures and desktop instructions; Provide training in related areas as needed; and Perform other duties as assigned.

     

    Other: Attends department D 15 meetings, safety meetings, all hands meetings, and performs other miscellaneous tasks as required by supervision.

     

    Must participate in the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) when designated.

     

    Must support the biennial refueling outage.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business Administration, Building Construction or similar, and five (5) years of work-related experience or equivalent combination of education, training and directly related experience equal to nine (9) years in estimating, construction, project management, engineering, or field supervision. Proven experience as an Estimator.

     

    This position is open until filled.

     

    Pay Range

     

    $106,670.00 - $160,006.00 Annual

    Midpoint:

    $133,338.00

     

    Typically, selected candidates are hired between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience and qualifications, market rate, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.

     

    Offers will be negotiated based on each candidate's qualifications.

     

    Incentive Compensation

     

    This role may be eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan. Incentives are earned based on employee performance against defined metrics and company goals.
