    We are looking for a **Principal Product Manager** to lead AI innovation. This role will help foster REI’s transition to an AI-forward retailer, focusing on making AI a toolset and developing new ways of working, throughout the co-op, leveraging those tools to deliver improved customer experiences, drive business value, and increase efficiency. We’re looking for a Product Leader with experience in delivering innovative customer-facing experiences leveraging AI technologies to bring their expertise to help us transform REI’s experiences. This is an exciting opportunity to understand how new technologies are shaping customer expectations, set an exciting vision and strategy and then bring it to life. There will be ample interaction with senior leaders as this is one of our key focus areas.

     

    You'll work with product management peers, enterprise and domain architects, engineering, design leaders, data scientists, directors, executives and stakeholders across the Co-op, including but not limited to Commerce, Merchandising, Membership, Marketing and Supply Chain.     Responsibilities and Qualifications

    Responsibilities

    + Leverage product discovery techniques to find product market fit between emerging AI technologies and REI customers

    + Identify AI tools consistent with the ‘future of work’ to boost employee productivity

    + Define the AI product vision and clearly translate the vision into requirements for the near term and long-term (3-year) roadmap

    + Build a short and long-term learning agenda and craft clear experiments to identify opportunities and test our best ideas

    + Lead creation of broad expertise and capability across the Co-op and enable AI usage to permeate all functions of the co-op

    + Jump start near-term AI projects to generate quick wins and create momentum

    + Ensure concrete business value (cost savings and/or revenue growth) is directly attributable to AI usage across the Co-op

    + Collaborate fluently with design, data science and engineering to implement experiments, recognize dependencies, remove barriers, ensure smooth product delivery, and proactively communicate risks to stakeholders

    + Effectively communicate and align with multiple product teams, stakeholders, and executives to drive toward common goals

    + Actively utilize and help improve product practices for the Co-op

    Required Qualifications

    + 10+ years’ experience working on digital consumer products, including 7+ years’ experience as a Product Manager or equivalent combination of education and experience

    + Experience leading the full product innovation lifecycle for new products from identifying the opportunities to customer research, prototyping, testing, analyzing results and iterating.

    + Experience delivering impactful customer experiences leveraging AI technologies (e.g. GenAI, deep learning, personalization, recommender systems, etc.).

    + Strong collaborative mindset and experience working with architects/engineers, data scientists, analysts, and UX designers

    + Proven ability to drive progress through influencing diverse stakeholders, from senior executives to individual contributors, toward common goals

    + Technical fluency and ability to clearly communicate user and business benefits for various technologies; comfortable communicating technology concepts, trade-offs and new opportunities with team members

    + Track record of delivering impactful products to a broad customer base in an agile environment

    + Expert at using a range of product discovery tools and inputs to inform product strategy

    + Proven ability to leverage data and insights to make informed product decisions including prioritization

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Experience working with omnichannel retail technology and systems

    Pay Range

     

    $130,200.00 - $208,200.00 per year
