    _This position is located at the D7 Headquarter Building in Mankato and may have the flexibility to telework, work a hybrid schedule, or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor._

     

    **NOTE:** This posting represents a multi-level posting. If the position is not filled by a qualified applicant at the Human Resources Technician 2 position, the position will be filled at the Human Resources Technician 1 level.

    Job Duties:

    The purpose of this position is to provide technical para-professional Human Resources and administrative assistance to the professional human resources and management staff of District 7. Duties include providing consultation and guidance in the areas of recruitment, selection, classification, compensation, records management, performance management and labor relations/contract interpretation, defining, planning, tracking, and managing assigned HR projects.

    Minimum Qualifications

    The level of experience required to perform this job at the **Human Resources Technician 1** level can be achieved with:

    + One (1) year of experience performing a variety of program support functions such as human resources or payroll.

    The level of experience required to perform this job at the **Human Resources Technician 2** level can be achieved with:

    + Two (2) years of technical human resources experience that demonstrates all the following:

    + Ability to problem solve and make decisions sufficient to perform job duties effectively.

    + Utilizing HR information systems (HRIS) to enter wages or other transactions.

    + Reading comprehension sufficient to understand and correctly apply written material (e.g., collective bargaining agreements, personnel policies, and procedures) to business processes.

    + Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, sufficient to respond to employee inquiries, explain policies/procedures, conduct training and new employee orientation, and develop informational materials.

    + Human relations and customer service skills sufficient to interact effectively with a variety of clientele in a direct, yet courteous, tactful, and effective manner.

    + Computer software skills (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook) sufficient to prepare and/or edit reports, compile, and review reports, create informational materials, create employee and applicant letters and memoranda, etc.

    + Ability to perform basic math and statistical calculations sufficient to calculate salary, severance, vacation accrual, etc.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Knowledge and experience applying employment contract language, and personnel rules.

    + Experience with collective bargained contracts sufficient to answer employee questions pertaining to bargaining unit contracts.

    + Experience with SEMA4

    + Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
