This position is eligible for telework for applicants who reside in Minnesota or in a bordering state, with supervisory approval and satisfactory performance. If you live in a state bordering Minnesota, you must live within 50 miles or less from the primary work location to be eligible for telework.
This position exists to provide expertise in provider relations, clinical pharmacy analysis and the pharmaceutical industry to the Department of Human Services Pharmacy Program & Medicaid Decision Support Division.
The employee is responsible for:
+ Overseeing the Drug Utilization Review program in compliance with federal regulations.
+ Managing the Drug Utilization Review Board, and public meetings, in compliance with state and federal requirements.
+ Overseeing Prime Therapeutics’ execution of the Drug Utilization Review program contract requirements.
+ Preparing, coordinating and submitting the federal Drug Utilization Review annual report to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
+ Overseeing aspects of drug and non-drug product value-based contracting (VBC) negotiations.
+ Develop and implement prior authorization criteria for new and existing drug therapies within the context of VBC arrangements.
+ Serve as cross coverage for the divisions other pharmacists during Medicaid Enterprise System (MES) modernization efforts.
+ Work with appropriate department staff and a contracted vendor to operate a supplemental rebate program for the VBC arrangements.
+ Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state statutes and regulations.
+ Assist in other activities of the Pharmacy Program, such as the state maximum allowable cost (MAC) program, and the Drug Rebate Program.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Must be licensed to practice pharmacy by the State of Minnesota.
+ Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
+ Three (3) years of relevant clinical experience in direct patient care or Health Plan/Prescription Benefit Management/Managed care.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Knowledge of data collection and analysis and an ability to use data to drive clinical and business decision-making
+ Experience in administering a Drug Utilization Review program
+ Experience practicing in the oncology or gene therapy setting
+ Board certification in Oncology Pharmacy (BCOP) or eligibility for BCOP
+ Excellent verbal, non-verbal and written communications, including public speaking
+ Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures
