We’re looking for a proactive and technically strong **Engineering Technician – Calibration Systems** to lead our **Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)** initiative — a high-visibility role with direct impact on equipment performance, production uptime, and team culture.

In this position, you'll be responsible not only for performing preventative maintenance and calibrations yourself, but also for **influencing and coaching** others to maintain high standards. While you won’t have direct reports, you'll be a key leader in shaping daily routines, promoting equipment care, and driving long-term reliability in our calibration systems.

What You’ll Do

+ **Lead our TPM program** , setting and implementing standards to improve equipment efficiency and uptime.

+ **Hands-on troubleshooting and repair** of complex calibration systems involving electrical, mechanical, compressed air, plumbing, and thermal systems.

+ Perform and document **preventative maintenance and daily equipment checks** .

+ **Train and influence** other technicians to build a culture of ownership, cleanliness, and accountability.

+ Monitor and report on system performance and drive continuous improvements in **Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)** .

+ Support the setup, validation, and optimization of new calibration equipment and processes.

These systems are critical to the precise measurements we provide for physical oceanographic, biogeochemical, and optical instruments — used in both deep ocean and freshwater environments. What You Bring

+ 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing, maintenance, or technical role.

+ Strong hands-on knowledge of **electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, cooling/heating** , and **plumbing systems** .

+ Ability to read schematics and technical drawings.

+ Experience or familiarity with **TPM** , and the ability to coach others on best practices.

+ Comfort working independently and leading by example.

+ Strong communication and influencing skills — you’re good at getting others on board with process and culture changes.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

+ Experience with **manual machining (lathe/mill)** .

+ Familiarity with **SolidWorks** or other 3D CAD tools.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.

The compensation range for this role is $35.00 - $38.00 USD per hour. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.
