Job Summary and Qualifications.
The Emergency Medical Technician is responsible for the administration of basic nursing procedures and or clerical duties involved with the care of hospital patients under the direction of the Registered Nurse RN. Duties and assignments parallel with demonstrated competencies. The Emergency Technician is responsible for assisting with routine patient care assignments, working in controlled and/or uncontrolled patient care situations, assisting with/in established nursing care procedures, and assisting in therapeutic, rehabilitative, and preventive activities under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Employees will be responsible for knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psychological, educational, safety and related criteria for the neonate, infant child, adolescent, adult and geriatric population.

+ Supports the philosophy of Park Plaza Hospital by facilitating cooperation of hospital staff in a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care.
+ Adheres to dress code, arrives to work on time, and initiates work in a timely manner.
+ Consistently provides outstanding service to all patients, physicians, fellow employees, and guests.
+ Displays initiative to see processes through to completion and helps without being asked.
+ Maintains awareness of own limitations and seeks guidance from appropriate personnel as needed.
+ Prioritizes activities of self-based on demands for service.
+ Remains alert to the detection of errors in own work and the work of others with appropriate corrective actions initiated.
+ Demonstrates an understanding of patient rights, including those pertaining to confidentiality, informed decision-making, and privacy.
+ Is aware of resources available for ethical concerns and makes appropriate referrals.
+ Practices cost-efficiently.
+ Performs technical skills proficiently in accordance with established standards, as evidenced by annual validation processes.
+ Utilizes specialized knowledge and skills to perform job requirements.
+ Demonstrates appropriate skills for assigned area/task.
+ Anticipates needed supplies/equipment prior to beginning assigned task.
+ Demonstrates ability to operate all departmental equipment.
What qualifications you will need:
+ Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
