    The Idaho State Department of Agriculture is currently recruiting for a temporary Warehouse Inspector for the Warehouse program in the Agricultural Inspections division located in Boise

     

    SPECIAL NOTIFICATION: This non-classified position is exempt from classified state service and the rules of the Division of Human Resources and the Idaho Personnel Commission. It does not come with benefits.

     

    Example of Duties

     

    The hired Warehouse Inspector will work a maximum of 40 hours a week. This may include working holidays and weekends with potential for overtime, any OT will be pre-approved by the supervisor. This job requires lifting up to 25 pounds, standing for long periods of time, exposure to hot and cold temperatures, and being exposed to heights. During most weeks, Warehouse Inspectors will be required to work four, ten hour days from approximately 7:00AM - 5:30PM. Warehouse inspectors will be scheduled four days between Monday through Sunday.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conduct complex field examinations of warehouses, commodity dealers, and seed buyers.

    • Pack and prepare safety equipment, and ensure that safety equipment is cleaned and properly maintained.

    • Conduct routine facility measuring by climbing bins and silo’s while ensuring correct measuring methods are followed.

    • Ensure that proper labeling and documentation are met with measuring.

    • Process necessary paperwork.

    • Ensure correct and thorough data entry.

    • Operate a motor vehicle.

    • Provide customer service as requested.

    • Communicate with staff as necessary.

    • Track their time worked through LUMA system·

    • Perform various examination functions to verify the reliability and accuracy of examined documents.

    • Assist in the investigations of complaints and reporting of unlicensed warehouses, dealers, and seed buyers, or suspected law violations to ISDA Management.

    • Verify warehouse charts and diagrams for newly licensed facilities or changes to existing charts and diagrams.

    • Perform other related duties as required or assigned

    Minimum Qualifications

    This qualification is a mandatory requirement.

     

    + Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, climb ladders, stand for long periods of time, endure exposure to hot and cold temperatures, and being exposed to heights.

     

    Specialty Qualifications: These qualifications are mandatory requirements.

     

    + Possess a valid driver's license.

    + A valid DL must be presented on your first day of employment.

     

    Supplemental Information

     

    Desirable Qualifications: These qualifications are not required; however, if you have the related background, it may increase your score.

     

    + Experience writing narrative reports.
