Position Summary
The Senior Director of Quality is a strategic leader responsible for building, implementing, and maintaining a robust Quality Management System across all TVS manufacturing sites. This role ensures regulatory compliance, drives continuous improvement, and promotes a culture of food safety, excellence, and integrity—all aligned with our nonprofit values and mission.
Key Responsibilities
+ Serve as the Safe Quality Food Practitioner , overseeing all food safety and security responsibilities to maintain certification.
+ Anticipate and resolve quality issues related to ingredients, processes, and finished goods.
+ Lead risk assessments, deviation reviews, and food safety investigations.
+ Integrate current quality standards with food safety processes (e.g., HACCP, GMP, internal audits, sanitation).
+ Maintain and enhance systems for document control, ingredient traceability, allergen management, sanitation, and shipping.
+ Lead quality training for all levels of staff, including food safety, sanitation, and continuous improvement.
+ Ensure compliance with USDA, FDA, OSHA, SQF, OU, and other regulatory bodies.
+ Act as liaison with third-party auditors, labs, customers, and suppliers on quality matters.
+ Oversee pre-op equipment and facility inspections for food safety compliance.
+ Maintain the pest control program per regulatory and customer standards.
+ Represent Quality on cross-functional teams: Food Safety, HACCP, Development, Leadership, and Safety Committees.
+ Ensure that the QMS is up-to-date, accurate, and accessible.
+ Supervise cleanliness, GMP adherence, and overall plant sanitation as needed.
+ Physical capability to meet inspection and supervisory requirements (lifting, bending, standing for shifts, etc.).

Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, Food Science, or related field (Master’s preferred)
+ 15+ years of progressive experience in quality management, with 5+ years in a senior leadership role
+ SQF Practitioner and HACCP Coordinator certifications preferred
+ Internal auditing experience, Root Cause Analysis training, and statistical process control knowledge a plus
+ Strong familiarity with food safety standards (SQF, AIB, Silliker, etc.)
+ Proficient in the use of laboratory equipment and quality-related software
+ Knowledge of food packaging and blending processes a plus
+ Background check, drug test, and NC Health Care Registry clearance required
