Description

We are looking for a dedicated Down Payment Assistance Coordinator to join a team in Saint Paul, Minnesota. This position is within the non-profit sector and offers a Contract-to-permanent opportunity. The role focuses on supporting homebuyers, realtors, and loan officers by ensuring smooth navigation of down payment assistance programs and compliance with lending policies.

Responsibilities:

• Educate clients, realtors, and loan officers about down payment assistance programs and guide them through the application process.

• Review client applications for eligibility and communicate next steps or additional requirements to complete the process.

• Collaborate with the Down Payment Assistance Manager to assign applications to appropriate mortgage origination partners.

• Audit files from mortgage origination partners to ensure compliance with program policies and provide feedback on areas needing improvement.

• Assist funding partners in conducting file audits and maintaining compliance standards.

• Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders, including clients and partners, throughout the application and auditing processes.

• Ensure all documentation meets established policies and procedures to support successful program administration.

• Provide ongoing support for low- and moderate-income homebuyers, fostering positive relationships within the community.

Requirements • At least 3 years of experience in mortgage origination, servicing, or portfolio management.

• Familiarity with down payment assistance programs, including administration and compliance related to subordinate loans and grants.

• Proven experience managing portfolios and assisting low- to moderate-income homebuyers in mortgage lending or non-profit settings.

• Knowledge of lending regulations and processes, including FHA loans and underwriting.

• Strong intercultural competence and ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

• Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance in all aspects of the role.

• Integrity and commitment to maintaining high standards of conduct and behavior.

• Focused on delivering excellent client service and building strong relationships.
