    JOB SUMMARY

    Assures provision of optimum quality patient care by serving as reference and resource person for the staff, patient and family.

    Adjusts staffing according to patient classification system.

    Participates in and encourages staff development.

    Coordinates patient care with other departments.

    Assists physician with specific problems.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Assures optimum quality of patient care

    Participates in employee recruitment/retention efforts

    Supports efforts by the director of nursing services, assistant director of nursing services and clinical coordinators to provide optimum quality care

    Coordinates patient care with other departments

    Delivers direct patient care appropriate to the age of patient served

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    Minimum Education

    Graduate of a Program in Discipline - Required

    Required Skills

    Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and takeappropriate action.

    Certifications:

    Basic Life Support (BLS) - to be obtained within 30 days.

    Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - to be obtained within 6 months

    Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - to be obtained within 6 months

    TNCC - to be obtained within 6 months

    Required Licenses

    [West Virginia, United States] Other

    Current WV nursing license.

    Minimum Work Experience

    Demonstrated leadership, management and problem solving skills and abilities; demonstrated teaching and communication skills, demonstrated objectivity, tolerance and understanding; demonstrated ability to form and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with all members of the health care team.
