• Family Law Attorney

    Robert Half Legal (New York, NY)


    Description We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Family Law Attorney to join our team in New York, NY. In this role, you will provide legal support and representation to immigrant survivors of intimate partner violence, ensuring their safety and long-term stability. This position offers the opportunity to work within a trauma-informed, multidisciplinary framework to address a wide range of legal and social needs.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide legal representation in family law cases, including custody, visitation, family offense petitions, and child support matters.

    • Advocate for survivors in domestic violence-related immigration cases when necessary.

    • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to offer holistic services, including counseling, case management, and crisis intervention.

    • Facilitate access to additional legal services for clients, addressing housing, public benefits, and other civil legal issues.

    • Deliver training and technical assistance to staff on family law and domestic violence intersections.

    • Collect and analyze program data to ensure accurate reporting and service improvement.

    • Participate in community outreach initiatives, taskforces, and events to raise awareness about domestic violence and family law.

    • Attend team meetings and contribute to organizational goals through active collaboration.

    • Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission of the organization. Requirements • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active admission to the New York State Bar.

    • At least 2 years of experience in family law and courtroom proceedings.

    • Fluency in both Spanish and English is required.

    • Experience working with survivors of intimate partner violence or sexual assault is preferred.

    • Knowledge of trauma-informed legal practices and their application.

    • Strong commitment to social justice and understanding of challenges faced by immigrant and underserved communities.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
