Description

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join their team in Bay City, Michigan. In this role, you will take part in key financial operations, including month-end closing, account reconciliations, job costing, and financial analysis. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the company’s growth and potentially advance into a leadership role.

Responsibilities:

• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including preparing financial statements and reconciling accounts.

• Maintain detailed schedules for various general ledger accounts and ensure their accuracy.

• Compile and analyze financial data to create journal entries and support reporting.

• Support annual audit processes by preparing detailed schedules and assisting with year-end close tasks.

• Reconcile bank accounts and other general ledger accounts on a periodic basis.

• Prepare and analyze cash management reports to ensure optimal financial planning.

• Conduct financial and operational analysis to identify trends and provide actionable insights to leadership.

• Provide backup for accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and inventory management.

• Assist in implementing and enhancing accounting systems, internal controls, and operational processes.

• Handle special projects, ad-hoc reporting, and administrative tasks as needed to support organizational goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.

• Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience.

• Familiarity with construction contracting environments, including job costing and percentage-of-completion accounting, is a plus.

• Proficiency in Excel.

• Strong working knowledge of accounting software with a focus on job costing.

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial tasks.
