    Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Self-Contained Special Education Teaching Assistant to join our team (6.5 hrs/day) in the Strive classroom. In this role, you will support students with diverse learning needs within a self-contained classroom setting. You will work closely with the lead teacher to create a positive and engaging learning environment that promotes the academic and social growth of all students.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Assist the lead teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.

    + Provide support for students with varying disabilities, helping them engage with the curriculum.

    + Facilitate daily activities and routines, ensuring a safe and structured environment.

    + Opportunities to collaborate with therapists and other specialists to support student needs.

    + Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities.

    Qualifications:

    + High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree or higher preferred.

    + Experience working with children with special needs, preferably in a school setting.

    + Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

    + Patience, empathy, and a commitment to student success.

    + Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

    + Knowledge of behavioral management techniques is a plus.

    + Teaching Assistant Certification or willing to obtain one.
