    Job Descriptions:

    ABOUT US:

    The World Council of Credit Unions works to advance financial inclusion through the credit union and cooperative model by engaging in international advocacy, development, education, and networking that empower underserved populations and promote more equitable and resilient communities.

     

    PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Associate provides comprehensive administrative, logistical, and operational support to the Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions (WFCU) team. The Associate serves as a central resource for the WFCU staff in coordinating basic functions, freeing up the WFCU staff to grow program value, brand, fundraising, systems, and experience.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    (Ideally, responsibilities would include a percentage of time on each activity.)

     

    + 40% - Administrative Support & Coordination

    + Provide administrative support to the WFCU President and team, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, drafting correspondence, and tracking action items.

    + Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external inquiries, routing communications appropriately.

    + Assist with travel arrangements, expense reports, and other logistical support for WFCU staff.

    + Maintain and update the WFCU archive to ensure that records are organized and accessible.

    + Track event expenses, credit card reports, and process related invoices.

    + 30% - Network Program Support

    + Provide unique support to staff leaders of the Global Women’s Leadership Network (GWLN), World Young Credit Union Professionals Program (WYCUP) and the Global DE Network.

    + Provide event logistics support, membership inquiries, GWLN Sister Society support, WYCUP, and Global DE stakeholder support as needed on an annual basis.

    + Assist with the coordination of network or WFCU webinars, workshops, and stakeholder meetings in partnership with program and staff leads.

    + 20% - Engagement Logistics & Communications Support

    + Serve as the first line of defense in general communications with WFCU staff, including managing the primary email and other channel correspondence.

    + Logistically support peer engagements and special events as requested.

    + Track event expenses, credit card reports, and process related invoices.

    + Cross-train on core WFCU programs and systems to provide backup support when needed.

    + 10% - Professional Development

    + Participate in relevant professional development opportunities to expand knowledge of credit unions, philanthropy, and administrative best practices.

    + It is expected that this role will evolve into a Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE) position within the first 36 months of assuming the role.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education

    + Associate's degree required.

    + Bachelor’s degree preferred.

    Work Experience:

    + Minimum 3+ years of experience in an administrative, operations, or project support role, ideally in a nonprofit, association, credit union or mission-driven organization.

    + Familiarity with CRM systems, databases, web-based and AI-enabled project management tools, or office technology.

    + Experience coordinating logistics for events or meetings is a plus.

    + Strong communication and project management skills.

    + Comfort with hybrid meeting facilitation and digital collaboration tools.

    Certificates and Licenses

    + Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE) certification is ideal.

    + Additional certifications in credit union leadership are desired.

     

    Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

     

    Travel: Occasional domestic and international travel (up to 10% annually) to support major events.

     

    Language Skills: Fluency in English required. Second language (Spanish or Portuguese) desired. Excellent writing skills and analysis, including the ability to draft complex policies and procedures in a user-friendly manner and to communicate concepts and ideas effectively with proficient grammar and punctuation.

     

    Computer Skills: Knowledge of the web with proven skills in Microsoft Suite products (Word and Excel 2003; Access, Power Point, Outlook, etc.).

    Reasoning Skills - The successful candidate will possess above-average legal reasoning skills in complex factual and legal scenarios, both cross-border and domestic. A detail-oriented nature and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently are essential.

     

    Interpersonal Skills - Effective interpersonal skills are essential for maintaining strong working relationships within and outside the World Council. Demonstrated ability to work as a team player towards organizational goals and objectives. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to coordinate and monitor workflows to and from multiple sources.

    WOCCU seeks to attract and retain the best talent by offering a comprehensive benefits package. This summary of benefits is for regular full-time and eligible part-time employees (working at least 30 hours per week).

    Flexible Spending Account (FSA) – Pre-tax dollars to pay for out-of-pocket healthcare or dependent care costs. The contribution limit is determined by the IRS and updated every year.

     

    Dental –Delta Dental provides preventative, basic, major, and orthodontia (19 years and under) dental care services.

     

    Vision Care – VSP covers vision expenses for exams, frames, standard lenses, and contact lenses.

     

    Prescription Drug Coverage – Covers eligible prescription drug expenses at retail or mail-order pharmacies (included with selected medical coverage).

    Disability and Life Insurance

    Short-term Disability (STD) –Offers income replacement of 60% up to $1,500 per week for a maximum benefit period of 9 weeks. This benefit will begin after 0 days if you become disabled due to injury and after 7 days if you become disabled due to an illness.

     

    Long-term Disability (LTD) –Offers income replacement of 60% up to $10,000 per month.

     

    Group Life and AD&D Insurance – WOCCU provides a replacement for loss of income in the event of an employee's untimely death in the amount of two times the employee's salary up to a maximum of $350,000.

     

    Voluntary Life and AD&D Insurance –WOCCU employees can elect additional life and AD&D insurance plans based on their family’s needs.

    Paid Time Off

    Sick Leave – Eligible employees will accrue sick leave benefits at the rate of 12 days per year (1 day for every full month of service). Part-time employees accrue sick leave at a prorated rate.

     

    Vacation Leave – Vacation time begins at the commencement of employment and accrues in proportional increments per pay period throughout the calendar year. Vacation accrual is based on years of service.

     

    Paid Holidays – WOCCU offers 11 paid holidays and 1 floating holiday that can be used at the employee's discretion.
