About the Job: Working at the National Museum of the Marine Corps, the Production Special Assistant will assist in the creation of educational video content for the museum. This role will involve editing and creating engaging video content, conducting research to enhance production quality, and assisting with light administrative tasks including outreach and support for synchronous programming. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of video production processes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Location/Schedule: Fully in-person: This is an in-person position located at 1775 Semper Fidelis Way, Triangle, VA 22172. This position is limited to 29 hours per week with a term not to exceed three years. Responsibilities: * Assisting with the management of distance learning studio equipment. * Maintain an in-depth knowledge of Distance Learning programs and applications. * Assisting with administrative duties, such as responding to program requests, and maintaining scheduling calendar. * Staying up-to-date with current videoconferencing applications and trends in educational technology. * Assisting with the creation, editing and publishing of video content * Conducting pre-program technology tests with schools and organizations * Assisting with the preparation of all synchronous and asynchronous distance learning programming * Researching, recommending, and implementing new video concepts * Accomplish all tasks appropriately assigned or requested Requirements: Education/Experience: * Some college preferred but not required Technological Skills: * Photography, video editing, and videography skills * Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) * Must be proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop * Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products Required Knowledge and Skills: * Managing the functionality of studio equipment Other: * Interest in military and/or American history Employment Conditions: Applicants who are selected for employment will be required to verify authorization to work in the United States. Environment and Physical Conditions: The environmental factors and/or physical requirements of this position include the following: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-20 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard. The employee frequently is required to be in one position for long periods of screen use, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear both in person and over devices. The employee interacts in close spaces and frequently with other workers, vendors, and clients. May be in situations which require conflict resolution.
