What you'll do Under the supervision of the Facilities Dept leadership, the Plant Operator I, is responsible for the safe, reliable operation of the boiler and steam plant, and associated equipment. Maintains assigned equipment Performs maintenance repairs as needed Assists trades, grounds keeping and hospital staff Completes all assigned inspections and rounds in timely manner Liaison between outside contractors, vendors, and staff Uses safe practices when performing job duties Performs water chemistry tests daily Multiple tank preventative maintenance and monitoring Other duties as assigned What we need from you Education: High School Diploma or GED, required Experience: Minimum 1 year experience in a steam or chiller plant. Knowledge of practices for safe operations, preferred Licensure/Certifications: Clean New York State Driver’s License, preferred Skills: Attention to Detail Technical Skills Computer Skills Decision Making Quality Control Problem Solving Reading/Writing/Comprehension Analysis & Evaluation Physical Requirements: Heavy Work - Exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs, of force constantly to move objects Occasional balancing, crouching, fit testing Frequent climbing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive emotion, stooping, talking, visual acuity, walking Constant typing/clerical/dexterity, grasping, hearing, seeing/monitor/computer use, standing Hazards: Occasional chemical, electrical Frequent burns, mechanical Working Conditions: Occasional dust, gases, odors Frequent wet and/or humid, fumes Constant extreme temperatures, noise, vibration Travel: Occasional Travel - The job may require travel from time- to-time, but not on a regular basis Total Rewards Bassett Healthcare Network’s commitment to our employees includes benefit programs carefully designed with the needs and values of all our employees in mind. Pay Range Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. Pay Range Minimum: USD $25.73/Hr. Pay Range Maximum: USD $38.69/Hr.
