    Job Title: Civil/Structural EngineerJob Description

     

    We are seeking a highly qualified individual with a strong background in civil and structural design engineering. This role involves working independently and performing activities associated with the Standard Design Process (SDP). The candidate will be responsible for supporting capital modification implementation and turnover, including outage or emergent modifications. The individual will also manage engineering vendor activities, including developing specifications, statements of work, bid evaluations, owner acceptance reviews, and coordinating engineering vendors onsite. A solid understanding of regulatory and industry standards, codes, and the 10 CFR 50.59 process is essential for this position. Experience with drafting, GT Strudel, welding, rigging, seismic qualification, pipe supports, and pipe stress analysis is preferred but not mandatory.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform highly complex engineering tasks that require knowledge and experience with nuclear industry standards and regulations.

    + Lead discussions in a group setting to resolve problems or coordinate design production.

    + Apply nuclear industry standards and regulations to solve new problems and address situations.

    + Serve as technical liaison within the nuclear business unit.

    + Prepare and review Engineering Change packages per the Standard Design Process.

    + Support project implementation and development of test plans.

    + Perform Applicability Determinations and 50.59 Screening.

    + Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

    + 5-8 years of relevant engineering experience.

    + Minimum of 3 years of nuclear experience.

    + Nuclear accredited qualifications are required, including preparation of Engineering Change, Verification, and Calculations.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with drafting, GT Strudel, welding, rigging, seismic qualification, pipe supports, and pipe stress analysis is preferred.

    + 50.59 qualifications are preferred.

    Work Environment

    The role involves working independently with wide latitude to exercise judgment over technical solutions. The work environment is dynamic and involves collaboration with engineering vendors and other stakeholders. The candidate will be expected to prepare Design Change Packages in accordance with the Standard Design Change process, utilized unilaterally across the US Nuclear fleet.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $90.00/hr.
