    Job Title: DevOps Software EngineerJob Description

     

    The DevOps Software Engineer will design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support the Missile Defense Advanced Simulation project. This role involves designing, developing, testing, documenting, and integrating simulation products using C++ and/or C# programming languages on Windows operating systems.

    Responsibilities

    + Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines.

    + Automate infrastructure deployment, scaling, and management.

    + Monitor system performance to ensure reliability and availability.

    + Collaborate with development teams to improve deployment processes.

    + Implement and manage containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

    + Ensure security best practices and compliance requirements are met.

    + Maintain and enhance configuration management tools.

    + Design and develop software to model various missile and air defense capabilities and concepts.

    + Assist in the development of simulation and software architectures.

    + Lead development of an agile software feature team within the context of a larger team, if required.

    + Interface with customers and present technical briefings to stakeholders, if required.

    Essential Skills

    + Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar software engineering role.

    + Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

    + Knowledge of CI/CD tools like Bamboo or GitLab CI.

    + Working knowledge of version control systems such as Git.

    + Understanding of networking concepts and security best practices.

    + Experience developing software in object-oriented programming languages such as C, C++, or Java.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field preferred.

    + Experience in software development including analysis, design, code, test, and integration.

    + Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

    + Experience in engineering M&S systems using optimistic and/or conservative discrete event simulation platforms.

    + Knowledge or experience in missile defense domain knowledge, command and control, and modeling and simulation development.

    + Experience in agile software development methodologies like Scrum or Kanban.

    + Automated testing experience with tools such as Test Studio and Checkmarx.

    + Active Secret clearance.

    Work Environment

    Onsite at COCO5 facility with a collaborative team environment that supports the U.S. Missile Defense System through the development of Modeling and Simulation applications used in warfighter training and exercises. The team encourages collaboration across all levels and offers opportunities for challenging and diverse assignments.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
