    Job Description

    Join the Electrification & Energy Solutions team focused on advancing battery systems for next-generation machinery. We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer Level 3 to support the validation and testing of battery systems as part of our product development pipeline. This role is ideal for hands-on engineers with a passion for energy storage, electrical systems, and testing in a collaborative lab environment.

    Responsibilities

    + Support and execute battery validation and test plans in Peoria-area labs.

    + Coordinate with external battery test facilities for remote testing, which includes occasional travel (under 25%).

    + Set up and conduct electrical system tests on medium- to high-voltage systems.

    + Analyze and review test data to provide actionable insights to internal design teams.

    + Assist with applying and interpreting battery validation standards such as IEC, ISO, UL.

    + Contribute to the development and documentation of validation test plans (DVP&R) and FMEAs.

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure battery systems meet quality and performance standards.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

    + 3–5+ years of relevant experience in mechanical or electrical system testing or validation.

    + Hands-on experience with electrical lab setups and test execution.

    + Knowledge or exposure to battery systems preferred, including fuel cells, inverters, switchgear, motor-generators.

    + Familiarity with industry testing standards (IEC, UL, ISO).

    + Strong communication and self-management skills, able to work independently and cross-functionally.

    + Experience with DVP&R, FMEA, or other design/validation documentation methods.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in battery testing, electrical validation, or energy storage systems.

    + Prior work with national labs or academic research in electrification.

    + Engineers with foreign education/experience and 1–2 years of U.S. experience.

    The role is based on-site.     Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $41.00/hr.
