    Job Title: Medical Assistant Scheduler

     

    Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM or 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

     

    Note: Occasional extended hours during peak periods

    Position Overview

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Assistant Scheduler to join our team. In this role, you will support 2–3 providers by coordinating surgical schedules, managing patient records, and ensuring smooth office operations. You’ll work with EMR systems (including a transition to ModMed), multiple scheduling platforms, and handle tasks such as pre-testing coordination, medical clearances, and prior authorizations (if supporting 2 providers).

    Key Responsibilities

    + Schedule patient appointments and manage provider calendars.

    + Coordinate surgeries and pre-operative requirements with local hospitals.

    + Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorizations (if applicable).

    + Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in EMR systems.

    + Respond to patient inquiries and route calls appropriately.

    + Process insurance claims, generate invoices, and manage billing.

    + Provide patients with information on treatments and post-procedure care.

    + Order and manage medical supplies and equipment.

    + Collaborate with providers to ensure efficient patient flow.

    Required Qualifications

    + Experience with EMR systems, especially ModMed (or transitioning to it).

    + Prior experience as a Medical Assistant.

    + Surgical scheduling or front office medical experience.

    + Prior authorization experience (if supporting 2 providers).

    + Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.

    + Proficiency in verifying insurance and scheduling appointments.

     

    Work Environment

     

    + You’ll be part of a collaborative team of approximately 7 professionals in the scheduling and prior authorization department.

    + The team includes both seasoned and newer employees.

    + After a 90-day onboarding period, you may work remotely up to 2 days per week using your own equipment.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
