    Job Title: Systems Engineer

    Job Description

    We are looking for a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our team. This role requires an innovative individual who can monitor and troubleshoot system incidents while ensuring optimal health of production systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of platform architecture and be able to drive technical innovation and efficiency through automation.

    Responsibilities

    + Monitor and troubleshoot system incidents to maintain optimal performance.

    + Provide support for incoming tickets, including troubleshooting tasks, features, and services.

    + Understand platform architecture at a high level and apply effective troubleshooting techniques.

    + Drive technical innovation and efficiency in infrastructure operations via automation.

    + Design monitoring and management solutions using automation and self-repair techniques.

    + Enhance operational workflow and improve customer impact through process creation.

    + Resolve problems at their root by identifying patterns and implementing long-term solutions.

    + Adopt best practices in documentation, testing, security, operational support, and resource efficiency.

    + Develop metrics to demonstrate improved operational efficiency.

    Essential Skills

    + In-depth knowledge and experience with Infrastructure as Code, such as CDK and CloudFormation.

    + Proficiency in AWS Services including SQS, SNS, ECS, Lambda, and CloudWatch.

    + Strong system troubleshooting skills and a passion for frugality and innovative engineering.

    + Experience in automation using Perl, Python programming, and shell scripting.

    + Good understanding of standard internet protocols such as Ethernet, ARP, IP, ICMP, UDP, TCP, SSL, DNS, and HTTP.

    + Grasp of security best practices in server configuration, tool development, and access controls.

    + Experience in building SQL queries.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Knowledge of programming language concepts and proficiency in at least one programming language.

    + Knowledge of version control systems like Git, Mercurial, or SVN.

    + Understanding of AWS technologies.

    + Experience deploying or managing servers in large-scale, geographically diverse environments.

    Work Environment

    The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST, with some on-call scheduling. Our work environment is guided by leadership principles including ownership, diving deep, and insisting on high standards. Employees are expected to work in the office five days a week.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $40.00/hr.
