About the Patient's Compensation Fund
The Patient's Compensation Fund (PCF) was created in 1975 to provide an affordable and guaranteed medical malpractice coverage system for the private healthcare providers in the state. The Patient's Compensation Fund is self-funded state entity, operating independently of the main state budget, and governed by the PCF Oversight Board. The Patient's Compensation Fund provides protection for the healthcare system, keeping costs down, and providing a guaranteed pool of funds to pay those citizens injured from medical malpractice of private care providers.

Minimum Qualifications
One year of experience in administrative services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for six months of the required experience.

Job Duties and Other Information
JOB DUTIES:
-Processes routine paperwork and/or enters data into a department log or database in the servicing of a client.
-Prepares, indexes, and scans documents into imaging system; may ensure quality of scanned images.
-Serves as receptionist for the assigned work unit.
-May deliver and pick-up various materials.
-Maintains department's records system, including filing and retrieving documents, researching files, etc.
-Responsible for scanning documents in a manner that content, context, and structure of the records are preserved. Ensures all documents are indexed with correct metadata.
-Disseminates mail and distributes mail to managers.
-Prepares documents for imaging, operates electronic scanning equipment, and converts scanned material to digital format
Position-Specific Details:
Incumbents of this position will serve as the agency receptionist and document imaging and quality control coordinator on the Records Unit. This job is in the career progression group capping at Administrative Coordinator 3. As the first point of contact visitors will encounter, incumbents are to maintain verbal and written professional communication, customer service, and exhibit interpersonal skills. Incumbents will be accountable to share duties between two separate work stations (front desk and imaging station), on a rotating schedule. Incumbent will be required to communicate and collaborate within the Records Unit and with all staff in the PCF. Incumbents also serve as a back-up for other positions in the Records Section.
Reception duties include: Front desk coverage during business hours; answering a multi-line phone; receiving and distribution of time-sensitive mail; greeting and communicating with mail room staff, agency staff, visitors, and callers; conference room scheduling; and sorting time-sensitive mail. Incumbent will receive visitors and packages from the 1st floor security station. Incumbents will verify and mail Claims check payments on a semi-weekly basis.
Imaging duties include: document imaging and document quality control. Many of PCF’s records can be subpoenaed for court, therefore it is critical that imaging is indexed and stored properly, without missing pages and in good shape without skewed records, clear in-focus documents, properly representing the original document. Incumbent ensures that the quality of imaged documents accurately represents original hard copies when checking for quality control.
NOTE REGARDING THE ADVERSTISED PAY:
The actual starting salary depends on the experience of the selected applicant.
This position participates in a Career Progression Group (CPG) and may be filled as a Administrative Coordinator 2 or Administrative Coordinator 3 level which will be determined by the qualifications of the candidate selected. This position provides the opportunity to advance within this job series.
