    DISTRICT 07 - UNIT 540 – JEFFERSON DAVIS MAINTENANCE

    This position supervises and manages assigned work activities of a crew of personnel to maintain DOTD's roadways, bridges, drainage, and other facilities in the Jennings maintenance unit in Jefferson Davis parish, District 07.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Four years of experience in the construction, maintenance, or repair of roads, bridges, levees, drainage facilities, wharfs, buildings, or grounds; OR

     

    Four years of experience in the operation or maintenance of industrial or heavy mobile equipment.

    Experience in any combination of the qualifying fields will be accepted.

    Job Duties and Other Information

    Job Duties:

    As a Highway Foreman 1, you will be instrumental in delivering a streamlined and engaging hiring experience for both candidates and hiring managers. In this role, you will:

     

    + Supervises a crew in the mowing of highway right of way and hand trimming and/or chemical spraying of vegetation.

    + Supervises a crew in maintaining shoulders using gravel, shell or earth.

    + Supervises a crew in the repair and control of roadside facilities

    + Responsible for the care and maintenance of mobile equipment, hand tools, etc. assigned to the crew.

    + Supervises a crew in patching bituminous roadway and bridge surfaces with hot or cold premixed bituminous material.

    Work Schedule:Work hours are 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Thursday
