    The Massry School of Business at the University at Albany, State University of New York, seeks candidates for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Management position with a focus in organizational behavior.

     

    This position will be within the Department of Management, which is responsible for undergraduate and graduate level (MBA) education in our AACSB-accredited management, entrepreneurship, and human resources concentrations. The department has a long history of high-impact scholarship and innovative educational programming, including a unique technology-focused MBA concentration in human resource information systems. Our faculty are well-regarded scholars across a diverse set of research areas, and frequently publish in high-ranking outlets. We seek scholars with active and productive research agendas who display potential to publish in leading management and organizational science journals.

     

    The position is targeted toward candidates with research and teaching foci in organizational behavior, management, and human resources. Candidates should be able to demonstrate an active program of research in these areas and be willing to teach courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. We are especially interested in candidates with interest or prior experience in instructing larger, introductory undergraduate classes and such candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

    Key responsibilities of these positions include but are not limited to:

    + Conducting innovative research and publishing in top peer-reviewed journals

    + Providing rigorous instruction in undergraduate and graduate courses

    + Presenting scholarly research at professional academic conferences and meetings

    + Contributing service to the Department, School, University, community, and our broader profession

    Primary Responsibilities:

    + Research and professional scholarly activity (e.g., data collection, data analysis, article writing, grant writing, presentations at professional meetings).

    + Material preparation, class development, and instruction at undergraduate and graduate levels.

    + Service to department, school, and university

    Functional and Supervisory Relationships:

    + Reports to Management Department Chair; Dean of the School of Business

    Job Requirements:

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Doctoral (e.g., PhD) degree in Management, Organizational Behavior, or a related field from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization by August 15, 2026. Candidates who do not hold the degree by this date will not be considered.

    + Record of research, measured by papers presented at major conferences and publications, requisite for an appointment as Assistant Professor in the fields of organizational behavior, management, and human resources.

    + Applications must demonstrate an ability to develop an inclusive and equitable relationships within our diverse campus community.

    + Applicants must demonstrate an ability to support diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and belonging relative to their role.

    Preferred Requirements:

    + Experience teaching undergraduate or graduate courses.

    + Demonstrated potential for obtaining external grants and research funding.

    + Typical office environment

    Professional Rank and Salary Range: Assistant Professor 10 Months, A5, Salary commensurate with experience.
