    Responsibilities

    Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist

    Overview:

    The Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist supports safe and effective delivery of cardiac, vascular, and interventional radiology (IR) procedures. This role includes scrubbing alongside physicians, operating and maintaining specialized equipment, and ensuring all procedural standards are met. The technologist demonstrates competency in hemodynamic monitoring, arrhythmia recognition, sterile technique, and CVL procedures

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Ensure patient needs are met per the instructions of the physician and the facility’s policies & procedures.

    + Demonstrates respect for co-workers & develops positive working relationships with other departments.

    + Communicates with courtesy when interacting with patients, physicians, facility staff, vendors, and the public – in person, on the telephone, or by email.

    + Performs the role of CVL scrub by anticipating the needs of the physician and keeping the circulating nurse informed of any needs throughout a procedure.

    + Ensures all supplies, equipment, and medications are assembled before the start of the procedure.

    + Combines the knowledge of human anatomy, cardiovascular procedures, and implementation of tools and technologies to facilitate the physician’s performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.

    + Responsible for ensuring all new equipment requests are appropriately analyzed based on utilization and data from the provider.

    + Maintain radiation safety at all times following radiation safety policies and procedures

    + Promotes a safe environment. Takes appropriate action in emergencies, being aware of and controlling hazards that may endanger patients, visitors, and employees.

    Qualifications

    Education & Certification:

    + Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology or certified RCIS program

    + High school diploma or equivalent required; AS or BS degree preferred

    + ARRT or RCIS certification required

    + Current BLS and ACLS certification required

    Experience:

    + 3–5 years of experience in a cardiac cath lab

    Skills & Knowledge:

    + Proficient in all cath lab procedures, including cardiac, vascular, pacemaker, and pain management cases

    + Skilled in scrubbing, monitoring, and direct patient care for both stable and acute patients

    + Able to operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot cath lab, imaging, and specialty equipment

    + Strong interpersonal skills; adaptable, team-oriented, and patient-focused

     

    USD $36.00/Hr. USD $48.00/Hr.
