The overall function of this position is to supervise a crew of personnel and manage assigned work activities in the Jennings maintenance unit, Unit 520, Beauregard parish, District 07. The position reports directly to the Parish Maintenance Superintendent in the unit. The incumbent must be self-motivated and be able perform management duties with minimal supervision. Duties entail supervising a crew of personnel to maintain DOTD’s roadways, bridges, drainage ditches, and other facilities in the parish. Work examples include supervising right-of-way clearing, tree removal, grass cutting, grounds keeping, flagging, patching, pothole repair, hot mix paving, reporting and approving daily work activities.
Minimum Qualifications
Four years of experience in the construction or maintenance of public streets, roads, bridges, highways, railroad rights-of-way, levees, airport runways, taxi strips, parking aprons, or parking lots.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
As a Parish Maintenance Superintendent, you will be instrumental in delivering a streamlined and engaging hiring experience for both candidates and hiring managers. In this role, you will:
+ Supervises a crew in the mowing of highway right of way and hand trimming and/or chemical spraying of vegetation.
+ Supervises a crew in maintaining shoulders using gravel, shell or earth.
+ Supervises a crew in patching bituminous roadway and bridge surfaces with hot or cold premixed bituminous material.
+ Responsible for the care and maintenance of mobile equipment, hand tools, etc. assigned to the crew.
+ Trains personnel in proper equipment and tool operation.

Work Schedule:Work hours are 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Thursday
