    Job Description

    Join our aerospace company as a skilled machinist in our machine and grind shop. We are seeking an experienced individual with precision capabilities to work with tight tolerances and blueprint reading expertise. The ideal candidate will be familiar with various types of machining equipment, possess high attention to detail, and have excellent communication and team-building skills. Upholding high standards of safety, health, environmental, quality, and productivity is essential.     Responsibilities

    + Read and interpret blueprints, holding dimensions and tolerances as specified.

    + Understand and perform machining and grinding on various hardened tool steels and epoxy resins.

    + Set up and operate both conventional and CNC precision grinding equipment.

    + Set up and operate conventional machining equipment to manufacture parts according to print specifications.

    + Mount and indicate parts with less than .001” Total Indicated Runout (TIR).

    + Operate a surface roughness tester.

    + Perform cylindrical and internal grinding of hardened tool steels and epoxy resins within tolerances of .0002”/.0005”.

    Essential Skills

    + Extensive blueprint reading and interpretation.

    + Precision machining and grinding skills.

    + Experience with conventional and CNC grinding equipment.

    + Ability to hold tight tolerances and dimensions.

    + Skill in mounting and indicating parts accurately.

    + Proficiency in operating inspection tools such as micrometers and calipers.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with centerless grinding processes.

    + Familiarity with hardened steel up to 62 Rockwell.

    + Ability to work with tiny shafts ranging from 3" to 15" in length.

    + Knowledge of achieving 16 surface finishes.

    + Understanding of OD and ID grinding processes.

    Work Environment

     

    Work in a dynamic aerospace machine shop with two shifts available: Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 3:30 PM, and 3:30 PM to 12 AM. Engage in precision machining operations in an environment that prioritizes safety and quality standards.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tukwila, Washington.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $50.00/hr.
