QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Criminal Justice, Security Management, Public Safety, Computer Science or Emergency Management) from an accredited college or university. Master’s degree preferred.
+ Ten years of related experience in security, law enforcement or emergency management.
+ Ten years experience in a supervisory capacity.
+ Strong knowledge of security measures, policies and procedures, as well as, crisis management.
+ Demonstrate leadership and team-building skills to manage security personnel and implement safety protocols.
+ Obtain a security license from Arkansas State Police within 6 months of hire.
+ Valid Arkansas driver’s license.
REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Operations
JOB GOAL: Responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing a comprehensive school safety and security program. This includes developing and enforcing policies, managing security systems, conducting risk assessments and training all stakeholders on safety procedures. Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency response teams.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Direct the planning, development and management of security services operations and its personnel.
+ Develop and recommend security policies, procedures and standards and implement and administer said policies and procedures.
+ Prepare annual budget for Security/Safety Department and make recommendations for hiring and problem resolution.
+ Prepare schedules for work allocation and perform performance evaluations.
+ Develop and maintain a training program for the security department staff as well as security officers assigned throughout the District.
+ Coordinate comprehensive security/school safety program with district level and building level administrators.
+ Responsible for safety audits of facilities and for adding necessary safety features to master plan, including alarm video surveillance and entry control devices.
+ Make recommendations to district level and/or building level administrators which promote the safe operation of the District’s schools.
+ Develop procedures to respond to requests for assistance from schools for the investigation of possible violations of District policies or criminal laws such as assaults, thefts and vandalism.
+ Assist in filing criminal charges with the appropriate authority and pursue restitution for property damage or loss of school property.
+ Apply for and administer safety grants.
+ Serve as a liaison with local law enforcement agencies to monitor the daily operation of the School Resource Officer (SRO) program and other law enforcement issues on school campuses.
+ Prepare annual report on state of safety program and make recommendations regarding security services performance and improvements.
+ Respond to after hour emergencies.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary Range: Range 9 - Support Staff Daily Salary Schedule ($271.29/day - $397.97/day depending on relevant experience)
Length of Contract: 244 contract days
FLSA Status: Exempt

EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated according to provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
