    DESCRIPTION:

    Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering best practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions. Oversee day-to-day operations and adjust project plans as necessary to meet deadlines. Research and evaluate alternative solutions, recommending the most efficient and cost-effective options that align with business strategic objectives. Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to help direct reports grow in their roles and achieve professional development goals. Conduct regular performance reviews, set individual goals, and provide ongoing feedback to direct reports to ensure continuous development. Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies. Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders, providing updates on project status, milestones, and roadblocks.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Minimum education and experience required: 3- or 4-year Bachelor's degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Data Engineer, Analyst, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master's degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Data Engineer, Analyst, or related occupation.

     

    Skills Required: This position requires five (5) years of experience with the following: Designing and implementing ETL and ELT data pipelines using Java, Scala, and Apache Spark; designing and implementing robust RESTful APIs using Java 11+, J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, and Apache Tomcat; designing and implementing microservices architecture using Docker and Kubernetes; working with a Hadoop ecosystem encompassing HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, Spark, and YARN for big data processing, performance tuning, data ingestion, and cluster management; and using SQL, Oracle, and NoSQL Databases for database design, PLSQL development, performance tuning, transaction management, and high-availability architectures. This position requires three (3) years of experience with the following: Designing and implementing microservices architecture using Docker and Kubernetes; using HTML, JavaScript, Typescript, React, Angular, and jQuery, in front-end architecture, state management, performance optimization, and responsive web development; building orchestrations using Python, Apache Airflow, and Shell Scripting. This position requires any amount of experience with the following: Driving the adoption of cloud-native solutions using AWS Cloud Service; real-time data streaming with Apache Kafka; implementing and overseeing testing strategies, including Manual Testing, Performance Testing, Unit Testing, and User Acceptance Testing; using GIT, Jenkins, Maven, and Junit to maintain code quality; managing and optimizing applications across Linux, Unix, and Windows environments; utilizing Agile SDLC methodologies to manage and deliver projects efficiently; designing, developing, and optimizing XML, JSON, and RESTful APIs to facilitate seamless data exchange, system integration, and scalable architecture for enterprise applications; leading application, data, and infrastructure architecture design, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions; managing Continuous Integration & Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools including Jenkins and Maven, ensuring automated builds, testing, and seamless deployment workflows.
