    What you will do:

    + Represent the Department in varied legal matters in state court proceedings, formal and informal hearings, mediations, and administrative hearings

    + Provide legal advice to Departmental programs on the proper course of action

    + Revise administrative complaints and review proposed programmatic actions for legal sufficiency

    + Conduct motion practice, pretrial discovery, and legal research with the assistance of administrative support staff

    + Serve as a hearing officer presiding over formal and informal hearings

    + Prepare complex legal documents and written legal opinions involving federal regulations, state statute interpretations, administrative rules, and court decisions, consistent with agency policy and direction from the Department’s Regional Legal Counsel and Office of General Counsel

    + Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    + Member of the Florida Bar

    + Two years of professional experience in the practice of law, legal research or in administrative or judicial hearings
