The Every Voice Ambassador is essential in facilitating the seamless integration of new hires at GE Appliances. Beyond offering language support to members of the Every Voice program, the Every Voice Ambassador assists current participants in excelling in their roles by helping them navigate cultural norms, comprehend company processes, and access resources. Serving as a primary point of contact, Every Voice Ambassadors regularly engage with both new and existing employees to ensure they understand their job assignments, address their questions, and provide solutions and advice for common challenges. Additionally, the Every Voice Ambassador plays a pivotal role in promoting employee engagement by raising awareness of engagement opportunities and keeping employees informed about company news through our media platforms. With a consistent presence on the plant floor, the Every Voice Ambassador also contributes to data collection and spearheads recognition and appreciation initiatives aimed at enhancing the overall employee experience.

How You'll Create Possibilities
+ **Recruiting & community outreach:** Conduct presentations at job fairs with community partners. Present information about current job openings in production, answer questions and explain hiring process by contextualizing material to fit the audience.
+ **Onboarding & Orientation:** Be the primary point of contact for new production employees, attending orientation, teaching I-9/Onboarding modules, conducting plant tours, and providing work phone contact information for follow-up.
+ **Daily Check-ins & Support:** Meet new hires on their first day, follow up with those who are absent, gather feedback, and ensure proper placement and training.
+ **Troubleshooting & Resolution:** Assist with timecard approvals, answer questions, and escalate issues to appropriate personnel.
+ **Feedback & Improvement:** Administer on-the-spot surveys, gather feedback from new hires and employees, report findings to plant leaders and HR. Help promote participation with Companywide Employee surveys. Lead Roundtable Discussions and employee feedback data collection
+ **Continuous Learning & Adaptability:** Stay informed about resources and procedures, actively use technology like GEA Connect, be open to learning new things, and flexible to change.
+ **Professionalism & Engagement:** Engage with employees at all levels, ability to work cross functionally, handle challenging situations with professionalism, and utilize appropriate processes and resources.
+ **Culture Building & Recognition Initiatives** : Participate in Appreciation and Recognition efforts for buildings with Employee Engagement Coordinator lead. Identify areas for improvement that include short-term and long-term initiatives.
What You'll Bring to Our Team
Required:
+ Bilingual in target language desired: Spanish.
+ Previous interpretation experience, 1 year minimum.
+ Must be service-minded and can relate to and serve fellow employees in a positive manner; this means you are inherently helpful, you like answering questions and know where to point employees to resolve their issues/concerns.
+ Must be an active listener and be open and curious about different viewpoints and different approaches to a variety of situations.
+ Be curious, ask questions, and continue to learn. Ambassadors will be a much-needed resource to new hires, and they need to be knowledgeable on a variety of topics – including what resources are available to employees and where to go to find answers.
+ Proficient in utilizing and leveraging technology tools and platforms. And ability to adapt to and actively use any technology and/or system where this information resides, like GEA Connect.
+ Willing and able to engage employees at all levels, working cross functionally with various teams and departments in the company
+ Demonstrate professionalism in handling challenging situations: how to appropriately manage processes and people that need to be involved as situations arise.
+ Have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
+ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in translation and interpretation.
+ The ability to assess the language skills of individuals with limited English proficiency is essential.
+ Experience interpreting for meetings with presentations or over-the-phone interpretation is a plus.
Additional Qualifications:
+ Additional language proficiency in French a plus.
+ Two years of previous manufacturing experience a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ For internal candidates ONLY: must have a minimum of 1 year GE Appliances’ Production experience and need to be in good standing in their role; Completion of 2+ Production roles is strongly preferred.
