How you will contribute

This position will be training on Day Shift from 6:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Thursday. Upon successful completion of training will transition to the Weekend Night with base hours from 6:30 pm to 6:30 am Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Will work 12 hour shifts, 36 hours per week and get paid for 40 hours.

Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the CNC Operator position in the Global Utility Division. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will operate the CNC Machines in a safe and efficient manner to aid in the fabrication process of Valmont products. Additionally, you will…

+ Assist team members with other departmental tasks, cleaning, and general equipment maintenance

+ Work under the direction of the leader and report directly to the Shift Supervisor

+ Operate the CNC burn table, drill press and other cutting or burning equipment and keep the department environment clean and safe

+ Inspect all parts produced to ensure quality standards

+ Maintain a clean and greased machine and perform daily TPM

+ Operate overhead crane, plate blaster, cutting torch and forklift as needed

+ Wear required personal protective equipment and follow facility safety regulations

+ Maintain a safe and productive working environment

What it takes

_Required Qualifications_

+ The ability to accurately use and read a tape measure, thread gauges, micrometer, protractor, and dial calipers

+ The ability to work effectively in a team environment

+ Must have a high awareness for safety at all times

+ The ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues

+ The ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions

+ The ability to perform basic math functions such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing

_Highly qualified candidates will also possess:_

+ High School Diploma or GED equivalent

+ One year of previous experience operating a CNC drill

+ One year of previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment

+ One year of previous experience operating hand and/or power tools in a professional environment

+ The ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment

+ Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results.
