    Title: GRAPHIC DESIGNER - FLEX, FT not to exceed 6 months Location: United States-Virginia-Virginia Beach Job Number: 2500022B Job Summary: Position has responsibility for the creation of creative and engaging content from various assets resulting in successful customer engagement. Implementing through assigned NEXCOM channels consisting of but not limited to web, e-mail, social media, paid search, blogs and to all print mediums . Duties and Responsibilities: - Uses Adobe Creative Suite software to create engaging and creative content including but not limited to catalogs, circulars, flyers, e-mail, social media, blog, web design, video, animation, internal presentations, in-store signage or other special programs in accordance with instructions and directions from Creative supervision within NEXCOM marketing or other higher graded NEXCOM marketing associates. - Works under the general supervision of a Creative Manager and/or higher graded marketing director who makes assignments verbally or in writing. Refers unusual or complex problems to supervisor for resolution but takes an active role in recommending solutions and/or mitigating issues . Completed work is reviewed as to quality of result and adherence to production dates, as well as accuracy of delivery. Work is reviewed in terms of the objectives met in accordance of the management by objectives program, brand standards and ability to assist NEXCOM in meeting planned objectives. - Develops, conceptualizes and executes projects through collaborative meetings with various teams and based on input from multiple defined sources. Works with various NEXCOM associates and designers to ensure exciting user experience leading to better overall results. May be required to develop several concepts within a said project to ensure brand consistency, meet set business objectives or improve customer experience. - Uses Adobe Creative Suite and other available applications such as video and web related software to create engaging and creative content to catalogs, circulars, flyers, e-mail, social media, blog, web design, internal presentations or other special programs. - Develops design and animations for email, social media posts (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter) and Google ads. Responsible for slicing and coding emails in Salesforce Marketing Cloud. - Develops web specific advertising that includes weekly panels (both static and animated), brand shops and gift guides. Also works collaboratively with web production team to improve site experience. - Promotes NEXCOM branding standards and consistency across media in all projects. - Reviews related input data for project/sequence/execution. Responsible for the execution and accuracy of delivery of all developed media including any related versions. Works with other related/available data such as promotional plans, existing standards or other means to ensure accuracy of delivery. - Uses notes provided from Merchandise Council meeting (Intent docs), promotional schedule, direction from marketing leadership, suggested layouts and details culled from actual merchandise to create creative and engaging content. - Works with Content Management Specialists (CMS) to develop copy specifications, headlines, copy blocks, pricing and other supporting content, with the objective of creating an engaging result with a great user experience within NEXCOM brand standards. - Confers with, consults and directs outside photographers to ensure all photographic requirements (including but not limited to, styling, model selection, background color, etc.), and merchandise accuracy is in compliance with NEXCOM brand. Directs necessary lifestyle photography with photographer as to create an emotional connection with our customers. - Supervises photographic shoots as necessary to ensure consistency of brand standards and creative content. - Works with other marketing associates to estimate photography shoot expenses and determine necessary photography while adhering to established budgets. - Reviews photography for color correctness, color balance to ensure merchandise accuracy and engagement. - Reviews various proofs for thematic clarity, consistency and accuracy. - Develops and prepares timely submission, production and distribution of assigned marketing materials. - Understands all prepress requirements, including but not limited to color correction and photo manipulation. Understands all digital formatting requirements and completes all work necessary to ensure files meet all standards and templates. - Strong working knowledge Adobe Creative Suite, HTML, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Oracle Endeca and Salesforce. Qualifications: A total of 5 years of experience, consisting of the following: GENERAL EXPERIENCE: 3 years of experience in professional, technical, or other design and creative work involving graphic design, web development, or video production with a Macintosh computer, which enabled the applicant to gain knowledge of techniques and methods for developing marketing content. OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: 1 year of academic study above the highest school level may be substituted for 9 months of experience, up to a maximum of a 4 year bachelors degree for 3 years of general experience. AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 2 year of experience in graphic design, web development or video production with Macintosh computer systems. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Dreamweaver, and Adobe Photoshop. Knowledge of HTML, HTML5, CSS, Javascript, Oracle Endeca and Salesforce. Skills in the development and implementation of various types of advertising, promotional, and marketing media, both digital and print. Job: Advertising/Marketing
